THE WINES

CHOREY-LES-BEAUNE WHITE

Located near Beaune, the Chorey-les-Beaune appellation is located at the foot of the village of Aloxe-Corton. The soil is mostly marly limestone alluvions on a stony surface coming from the Corton hill slopes. The vines benefit from this dry subsoil, and the Chardonnay planted there gives fresh and fruity wines.

CORTON CHARLEMAGNE GRAND CRU

Located between 280 and 330 meters of altitude, the Corton Charlemagne has a South-East aspect which is rare along the Côte. The Corton hill is shared by the villages of Aloxe-Corton, Pernand-Vergelesses and Ladoix-Serrigny. In 775, Emperor Charlemagne donated this plot to the Saint-Andoche Abbey in Saulieu. The Corton Charlemagne appellation, recognized in 1937, is made of the Climats “Charlemagne” and “En Charlemagne”. Our plots : Les Languettes, Les Pougets and Le Charlemagne are located in the village of Aloxe-Corton and have a South/South-East aspect, a perfect condition for obtaining a superb Corton Charlemagne Grand Cru. This appellation is exclusively planted with Chardonnay on steep slopes of 20%. The marly limestone soils are rich in clay. Corton Charlemagne is a powerful wine. It has length, complexity and reveals aromas of honey, flintstone and a touch of citrus.
