The Maurice CHAPUIS winery is in the village of ALOXE-CORTON in the Côte d'Or, Burgundy. As a matter of precision we are in the viticultural area known as the Côte de Beaune.
The village is at the foot of the renowned hillside of Corton. Aloxe-Corton is situated 5 km north of Beaune and 35 km south of Dijon.
Its location is also fortunate as it is not alongside the main road like many wine producing villages ; instead
it is 400 metres from the road, this allows much tranquillity.
The calm and tranquillity of the country, while being close to town, are great advantages. Aloxe-Corton is 100 % devoted to vineyards; consequently there is no building land available.
This means that it will never grow significantly and the population will always stand at about 200 inhabitants. |
